Mold & Mildew InhibitorsSTAY-CLEAN I/E is a mold and mildew (mildewcide) inhibitor additive that you mix into your stain or paint before you apply it. Stay-Clean can be used both on your homes interior or exterior surfaces in either oil based or water (latex) based coatings. The mold and mildew inhibitors should last from between 3 to 5 years. Stay-Clean will not affect the drying time or the color of the coating that you are applying. It is advised to apply the treated coating product within 3 hours of adding the Stay-Clean log mold and mildew inhibitors to it. This additive should be added to the stain or paint when you are applying the last coat. Stay-Clean comes in easy to use syringes, either 9 grams for 1 gallon containers or 45 grams for 5 gallon containers. The syringes make it very easy to add it to the coating product you are going to be using. You are getting the right amount of inhibitor added to the type of container you are using with no guessing or measuring needed. Make sure that you mix it thoroughly for maximum protection When I am preparing to apply stain to a log home either new construction or an existing log home that has had the old finish removed I always add Stay Clean I/E to the stain. I feel this gives me a better chance of stopping any mold and mildew from getting started.
