LOG ROT INHIBITORSCOBRA RODS are a safe low cost wood preservative, fungicide and insecticide. The rods have a combination of borate and a copper complex in them for treating areas that are prone to decay. The copper complex provides extended protection from fungus species that are not affected by the borates. The rods are great for treating wood where the wood stays wetter for a longer period of time. They can be used on porch posts, log ends, deck joists or even landscape timbers. Cobra Rods are a way to spot treat decay prone areas such as log ends that are already coated with a finish. Once the rods are inserted into the damp or wet wood the borate/copper complex dissolves spreading the active ingredients into the areas surrounding the rods. Cobra Rods are easy to install and the whole process only takes a few minutes. For that few minutes of installation time you will in return receive 8 to 10 years of protection. The rods are 7/16" in diameter and 2 inches in length. For a 6 to 8 inch diameter log you would use two 2 inch rods.
